Jamescita Peshlakai has a distinguished record of public service, including one term as a State House Representative and two terms in the State Senate. She served as the tribal liaison for the U.S. Department of the Interior under President Biden and, in 2025, was appointed by Governor Hobbs to the Arizona State Transportation Board.

Representative Mae Peshlakai is seeking a third term in the State House. Overcoming her experience as a federal boarding school survivor, she has become an internationally celebrated artist and a revered elder dedicated to preserving and sharing Indigenous knowledge.
